I, the holder
Her silhouette outshined her plain dress and it was in that moment that I saw her and she looked ever as desirable as any model with classic female features that was intensely glamourised by the media....
LITERALLY 6PINK20 September 2018I am a serial exagerator, exaggerating everything from the pasty weather outside to the pastyness of my skin. A neat trick that I quickly learnt earns cheep laughs and small affirmations.

A TIED CHALLENGEThe difference between dressing well and dressing fashionably is simply the risk factor. Risk is to fashion what salt and spice is to popcorn. Pop corn is good as it is but salt just adds that extra spice . . .

THE AGE OF RAUNCH
What we needed to hear.Every week we do a JAM OF THE WEEK, where I select 1 song (or one artist) that has found itself on repeat. This week I was going to bless you with the sounds of FKJ and French Kiwi Juice but The Plug Magazine released an article on the context of South African Hip Hop in our culture.
With sharp statements such as "The consequence of SA hip hop being reduced to “an industry of cool” is that it becomes a caricature." and "Beyond vacant trap artists, the lack of political commentary, social commentary or anykind of commentary from South Africa’s rap fraternity also invites imposters such as Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh. . ." In a society that's commercialized every essence of an art that once was used for more than entertainment and to aid good times, William's article was a breath of non filtered air that was poetically refreshing. |

CHANNEL HAUTE COUTURE SS17
FASHION UPDATE
It is no doubt that Channel was not the only dazzling show at the SS17 Couture week but they undoubtedly stole the show. They were most memorable for their uncompromising silhouettes and dazzling colours. A fine example of Victorian Minimalism, a style we've seen designers hint at of but never so wholesomely accomplished until CHANNEL HC SS17.

RECAPS FROM MARCH FASH WEEK
|
With Joburg MercedsesBenz Fashion Week Spring/Summer right around the corner (10-13 Aug) I thought it a good idea to recap on the happenings of last Fashion Week. Last season we saw, to put it simply, eclecticism. This season we can expect the usual unexpectedness. Designers can be spilt into 2 simple categories. The 'traditional' and the 'new age' designers. 'Traditional Designers' embrace more African silhouettes and patterns, they basically design in a way that screams "AAAFFRRIICCCAAAAA". Sometimes this can be very cliche' as it can easily look stereotypically like something African and whilst I'm for heritage and conservation I feel like wee need to break out of this uninfluenced, purely African mode of design, to move forward internationally we need to embrace international styles and not just our own. But I suppose it could also be seen as those designers who embrace African design and preserve African culture and it's styles. . .New age designrs are 'New age' because they're modern. They fully embrace new world and international styles but many of them also seem to cut out all hints of ethnic African style in their designs. I find that they tend to favour style that lean towards minimalism more than anything else. N E V E R T H E LESS this season I'm predicting big silhouettes, bold patterns with radical colours. Reviews will be available 10 mins after each show.

MRS JACKSON
JULY 2016 EDITORIAL
This is the story of the beautiful narcissistic women who married a rich man and now spends her time basking in self adoration and her own toxic levels of conceitedness. Mrs Jackson is low key egotistical because she understands that you catch more flies with honey than salt. She's knows that her ego can be feed much more if she plays the humble role rather than high key boast about herself.
