Ralph&Russo AW 2016/17
Their show was so marvelous yesterday we've reposted all of the looks from the collection -minus a few that we felt weren't completely necessary. . . The collection in it's entirety is soft and feminine. Filled with sparkle, movement and ease, the silhouettes in conjunction with the custom patterns(textiles) which urge a feeling of sultry stillness. It feels as though the style itself is quite eclectic as the silhouettes range from modern Italian to hints of Greek and less subtle hints of a sort of Spanish homage, reference Look 30. Say what you must but the collection is undoubtedly one of the finest seen this far in Couture week, Especially if you compare it to Channel's show last night. I suppose this just shows that you can have the best backdrop money can buy but if your clothes don't speak of modernity then ain't nobody tryna' hala.
With so many fashion houses seemingly trying to impress the good people of the fashion industry with frivolous and excessive backdrops in exotic locations that can only be reached through that House's private jet . . . (Fendi. . . #really?). We're really pleased to be graced with simplicity and elegance all thanks to Ralph&Russo. The minimalist backdrop was more than enough as the focus was clearly meant to be on the garments and rightfully so and they encompassed the classic beauty that lends to no amounts of speculation. We know that this is couture and Channel's show was resort so before a panic attack occurs let it be remembered that "Fashion should make one look modern or it's not fashion"-Some one Famous and Channel's show was not modern and frankly is was ridiculously unwearable and eclectic but never the less Ralph&Russo impressed us yet again and let's just linger on that positivity.
