I've never really been a fan of David Tlale's menswear creations and this collection doesn't really change my mind about that. I found the menswear to be simply, boring. There were possibly two coats or so that I thought "Hey! If I ever got a boyfriend I'd definitely make him wear that!" but at the same time it's nothing that he wouldn't be able to find in any Markhams or H&M and regardless of weather it was 50's or shower curtain homage , I was not fancying the polka dot coats.
The woman's wear on the other hand was enjoyable. I was loving the use of all the dark colors and really what I mean by this is, I was loving the black! Even though we're moving into winter now it seems the Mercedes Benz designers were all envisioning a 'happie chappie' winter filled with loads of bright lollipop colors, not that there's anything wrong with that, it was just entertaining to have my pallet treated with a dish of something with a more darker essence. These are all the looks from his collection. |
My favourite one would have to be this one. I've always been alover of capes and recently I've been favouring these more tranlocent materials and in combination with the ideal silhouette of a womens body this look is just complete and really stupendous! Just to make it clear I doubt I'd wouldnt wear this garment but I commend the aesthetic.
